Hello there! I’m Rosie, the Professional Photographer behind Rosemary Despres Photography. I am a global luxury wedding photographer. I travel all over the UK and internationally for many stunning Weddings, be they intimate or multi day events. I am from the Channel Islands but now reside in Devon in the UK.

'I strive to create works of art from every wedding'
Nature and Art mean the most to me. I am a highly creative person; if I’m not taking photos, I’m making art in a variety of mediums - I love painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramic, embroidery, crotchet... I studied Fine Art at University, and worked for many years in Art Galleries and for the Royal Photographic Society. This naturally artistic eye informs my work. I often photograph from a distance so I can frame things in the photo, and love looking through things like flowers. I’m always drawn to different angles, capturing the little details and the fashion, and love working with the light. My favourite part of a Wedding is the details, bridal and couple portraits, especially if at golden hour or sunset.
I photograph in a very natural, not intrusive way, letting you just feel the joy of your love for each other on such an important day. I just take on a small number of weddings each year so that I can devote a lot of time to them; I do really care about my couples. Taking on such a small number each year means that we can get to know everyone and personalise everything to you. I am so honoured and touched to be have been a part of so many couple’s journeys. I won’t be that person who dances with you on the dancefloor, but I will likely cry with you!

Hazel thrives off travel and the adventure it brings; she has travelled all over the globe and lived in some of the most beautiful places, and currently calls Devon in the UK her home.
She is a delightful, vibrant and bubbly people person. She’s great at reading the room, and will photograph naturally and inconspicuously, but also be more of a friend and make you laugh if you need! She is very empathic, and the type of person who does genuinely see the beauty in everything.
Hazel is a highly experienced second shooter, and has covered over 100 Weddings. She is very passionate about the craft of photography, and has quite a collection of lenses! When Hazel isn’t travelling, you’ll find her walking on the moors with her beautiful dog Eski.
Random other things about me:
- I love Nature and camping on Dartmoor. Supporting the environment is very important to me, and I'm conscious of this in my every day life and travel choices for my business.
-I have a ginger, dark chocolate and hot chocolate addiction!
-I love walking and I swim in the rivers and
sea all year round
-I love colour, texture, patterns, and statement jewellery.
-My favourite day is having a long walk somewhere in nature, and coming back and making art, and enjoying my fluffy socks, numerous fluffy blankets and oil burner!
-I also photograph other strands of photography, including press and commercial for a variety of clients. It's been a privilege to have photographed Press for some of the BBC Gardener's World Shows, and to have one of my photos from the 209 Women Project of MP Michele Donelan, being held in Parliament's Collection.
'Honestly Rosemary is the most sensitive, talented and fresh photographer. We thoroughly enjoyed our engagement shoot and decided we wanted her as our wedding photographer before we'd even seen the photos! The photos blew us away and we frequently look through them now, a year later. We are so excited for her to be our wedding photographer and to capture our special day in the most lovely way.
